About the Artist
Rebel & Barb’s story began in 1992 at a local music venue in Blue Springs, MO. Their shared dream of entertaining and love for music was the genesis that has brought them 24 years of marriage, harmony and mischief wrapped up in a husband and wife musical collaboration. Rebel’s roots cover a vast area of Rock & Roll, Punk and Blues with vocal sounds parallel to Steve Miller and Elliot Lurie of Looking Glass, and a guitar playing style to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Prince. Barb’s roots developed from an entirely different genre and sound. Barb’s childhood was surrounded by old school country music while listening to Kansas City’s own 61 Country and her parents’ old 45’s. It was there she learned to emulate the Female Pioneers of her time. From the sultry sounds of Patsy Cline to the incomparable Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell, and Brenda Lee, Barb found her own unique style and sound while incorporating a taste of the Blues and Rock with earmarks like Janis Joplin and Melissa Ethridge. Rebel & Barb are no strangers to each other nor the crowd they entertain. Their music branding is an eclectic array covering multiple genres, decades, and originals. Their musical disparity and unique styles have created a versatile product that people have come to love and enjoy. Crowd pleasing melodies and singalongs adjoined with marital humor create a one-of-a-kind duo.
